If You Like It, Put a Pin in It: Rio’s Pinterest Boards!
We looooooove social media! Whether it’s pictures of our classes on Facebook, chatting with artists and jewelers on Twitter, or pretending that we’re Google employees on Google Plus (just kidding, Google—we love your network, too!), there are so many great ways to keep in touch with all of you.
Lately, we've been playing in Pinterest an awful lot. It’s a fun spot to discover and share cool pictures, ideas, pieces, and more. As our presence on Pinterest ramps up, I thought it’d be fun to spotlight a few of our favorite boards and what we’ve been doing on them.
Emails 2012
Our emails board is here to help make sure you never miss one of our gloriously useful emails! We post copies of every email we send out, so you can always find that awesome bead you saw two months ago but forgot about. If you’re signed up for any of our emails—and you are signed up to get some occasional emails from us, aren’t you? J—you already know that they provide you with great info on cool new products, our favorite old ones, and new projects/videos/more. But sometimes, in the midst of all of the other, lesser emails you receive, you can lose track of the fantastic ones from us!

Saul Bell Design Award
Celebrating the best pieces that jewelry artists like you come up with, the Saul Bell Design Award is a highlight of the entire jewelry industry. Although we love the glitz and glamour that come with an award show, the best part still is—and always will be—the pieces themselves!
The 2012 Saul Bell Design Award board shows off the winners from all categories of last year’s contest, while the Pre-2012 Saul Bell Design Award board covers many from past years. Need some inspiration or want to see what other artists are doing in a specific medium?

Jewelry Projects
We love providing artists and jewelers with the supplies, tools, and basic materials you need to bring your ideas to shimmering life and, if you ever get stuck, we’ve got you covered! We’ve got great videos, informative instructions, and accessible projects for cool techniques, beautiful jewelry pieces, and more.

Come on by and look around; follow us on Pinterest if you like what you see! We’ve got tons of other fully loaded boards, with more stuff getting added every day!
And if you’re a Pinterest user, let us know in the comments…we’d love to see what great stuff you’re pinning to your own boards!

Hi, there!
Welcome to The Studio, a meeting place for those who, like all of us at Rio Grande, share a passion for making jewelry.
This little corner of the web is your opportunity to meet and visit with our experts and the experts who are our friends and partners. Come by often and see what’s new. Offer your take on the latest and greatest in your shop or studio.
Whether you’re just starting out or are always on the prowl for a new idea or inspiration, we look forward to getting to know you!

Pinterest’s a lot of fun, though it can also lure you into spending hours looking at beautiful jewellery, fun craft ideas, gorgeous beads, yummy recipes, magical art and photos etc etc. It is a great place to find inspiration, nonetheless, and the focus on images rather than text makes it much more immediate. Next to blogs my favourite type of social media. And it’s always fun to find/stumble upon people who share your taste and interests too.

Pinterest is amazing. And I have occasionally felt the need to pin my most treasured recently-acquired Rio Grande tools on Pinterest boards. In fact, I need to do that with my Foredom…
