Annie (also known as Andrea) Koenig won second place in the gold/platinum category in the 2014 Saul Bell Design Award competition. She documented her artistic journey, from the first spark of the idea to enter the contest, through completing the piece and attending the awards dinner, on her website. “I have worked for five months, no six months, on this piece from inception…and now it is getting life breathed into it,” she wrote in her journal during this phase. “After seeing it on the computer and in my mind for so long, I get to see that actual necklace.”
