Seats are still available for great workshops this summer!
The Rio Summer Workshop Series is coming and seats are going fast, fast, fast. Grab your chance to sit in on—and get your hands dirty in—an amazing and inspiring workshop that will get your creativity going. Here’s a sample of classes that still have room if you hurry:
Barbara Becker Simon, a real natural with PMC® whose fun teaching style and infectious enthusiasm are just the things to add a bit more jazz to your summer. In this class on Making Mask Rings, Barbara is all about saving face. After all, what’s more fun than making faces? …and what’s more tricky than getting them to look right? In this class, you’ll work with Barbara (renowned for her work with PMC) to learn and practice the techniques she has developed for successfully creating the lines, curves and details of faces. Then, you’ll use the faces you’ve made to make a ring. Take your new know-how and use it to make a variety of jewelry with personality!
Have you ever exulted in a brainstorm that left you with the most amazing idea for a design only to have it skitter away before you can capture it on paper? Never again. In this class on Capturing that Killer Design, Lexi Erickson, a brilliant designer and teacher, shows you how to get that design you can see in your mind’s eye down on paper, where others can see it, too—and where you can work to get it made.
In order to sell that terrific piece of jewelry you’ve made, potential buyers have to see it. Most often, that involves posting a photo of it online where customers can ooh and ahh over it and decide they simply must have it. To do that, you need to be able to take a photo of your design that can get that kind of a response…and this Photo Basics for Jewelry Artists class is just the place to do it! Learn from professional photographer Jim Lawson about how to set up, light, and shoot your pieces so that they look their absolute best!
And, finally, in today’s world, who doesn’t at least dabble in designing on the computer? The tools you’ll find in the latest CAD software can free you to concentrate on your design, the details, and the nuances you want to create the ultimate production of the piece you have in mind. In this class, CAD with 3DESIGN, you’ll use one of the best software programs out there—and learn from an expert in using that program—to see what CAD design is all about and how it can energize your creative process.
Clear your calendar for the week of Sunday, July 27 through Friday, August 1, and reserve yourself one of the remaining seats for these and other Summer Workshop classes. It’ll be a high point in your summer fun, and it will serve your professional goals for every season going forward. See you there!
