My partner and I moved to Albuquerque in 2009—she was starting her law degree that year. We had a choice between Albuquerque, Boston, or Queens. After having traveled to all of them, we decided Albuquerque had a pace of life similar to what we had grown used to in Tucson, Arizona. I love visiting our friends on the east coast, but living there on a day-to-day basis would've been a little much for me.
I went to the University of Arizona (Go Wildcats!) while working in the automotive industry. Yep, I can recite poetry and fix your ride! I miss working on cars, but I don't miss working on Saturdays! I started with Rio Grande in 2009 as a receiving clerk, and about a year later I transferred to the machine operators team. Rio is the coolest place I've worked—the people are awesome, the work is fun, and the people are awesome! Yeah, I meant to do that. . .it's true—come see!
In 2011, my partner and I adopted our daughter, Hannah. She sure keeps us on our toes! We also have two cats, Gypsy and Sophie. It's a lot of estrogen in the house, but we make it work. We're planning to give Hannah a boy kitten—I'll let you know how the daring dude fares!
