Last week, Jewelspan.com got in touch to tell us that jeweler Melodie Owen, who they featured in a recent interview, made a point to mention how much she’s learned at Rio Grande over the years. We were excited! Melodie has taken many classes from us to expand her skills and knowledge, so we love to see what she is making at www.melodieowen.com.
Rio Grande instructors Yvonne Padilla and Mark Nelson immediately lit up when they heard about Melodie’s interview. Mark says, “Melodie is fun, energetic, and vivacious. A lot of students who take more than one class here become part of the Rio Grande family, and Melodie is one of them.”
Check out Melodie’s Jewelspan Jeweler interview, posted just last week!
The necklace we show here, Petals of Steel, is one that Melodie makes using Now That’s a Jig™ tools from Rio Grande. She will be teaching this piece and other pieces with Brenda Schweder, inventor of the Now That’s a Jig! wire wrapping system, at the 2014 Bead and Button Show in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Congratulations, Melodie, on your interview, and thanks for giving Rio Grande classes a shout! Readers, we’d love to hear about your experiences learning with Rio Grande, whether it’s in the classroom, on YouTube, or through our step-by-step projects and other content on our website. Let us know what you think, here at The Studio.
