From really big process and system changes to the tiniest details, there’s usually more than one person involved in the decisions around here. We like to call it “whole brain thinking.” Oftentimes, when someone has a good idea, we gather a team to brainstorm it. If it’s a go, we make it happen!
I’ve worked at Rio almost four years, and I can proudly say I have never had a boring day here. It’s fun and challenging at the same time. Innovation and creativity flourish here. That’s what it’s all about—getting a bunch of heads in a room and letting ideas flow freely. During one such recent brainstorm, someone had the great idea to create a video that shares a glimpse of the people here and their experiences. Here is what we heard from them:
“While this is the most challenging environment I’ve ever worked in,” says Mark Shipman, a business coach at Rio Grande, “it’s also the most supportive.” We’ve created an environment that drives performance and has fun at the same time. Rio has won New Mexico’s Best Places to Work Award and New Mexico’s Healthiest Employer Award multiple times.
Alexander Graham Bell said it best, “Great discoveries and improvements invariably involve the cooperation of many minds.”
