Well folks, today’s “What Are You Working on Now” contest comes with a great big smoochy “Thanks!” from me to you. Why, you ask? Because all of us here at the Studio are feeling grateful for the view you’ve shared of what’s on your bench each month AND because today’s post marks the very last occasion of the “What Are You Working on Now” contest. But don’t worry! There are always opportunities to reach out, connect, and show us what you’re working on. Keep your eyes on Rio’s Facebook page, our Instagram account and our Twitter feed for contests, calls-to-action, and conversations about your inspirations and techniques!
And that brings us to our final WWoN contest winner. This month’s winner is Kristen Baird of Savannah, GA. who has won a $20 Rio credit and a moment in the spotlight. Here’s the lovely “Bloom Necklace” Kristen shared with us:
I love working with sterling silver wire and faceted gemstones to create clean, modern floral and nature-inspired pieces. I completed this piece which features amethyst and white topaz gemstones and am working on a new one in variations of blue topaz and white topaz. I tend to work from very loose sketches (as you can see in the first photo) and layer various materials on top of the sketch to form a more 3D “sketch model”. From there it is off to forming and soldering to build and connect all the parts and pieces. The really fun part is seeing it come together when I set the stones!
And here are a few treasures from Kristen’s website, Kristen Baird Designs.
